Our opening weekend of the 2015 season went very well. The weather was kind to us with a bright dry day on Saturday which got very nippy at the afternoon went on, and Sunday again being dry with flashes of sunshine. Both courses played very well with all the greens being in excellent condition and the fairways and rough areas being well maintained and shaped. Accommodation and food was good although drinks were expensive and they had rather a limited range. Overall it was probably our best weekend to date even without the golf. Friday saw us take on the Woodside course using the Texas scramble format. An open course kind to the wayward drive and little in the way of trouble, allowing you to recover well with your second shot. Highlight of the golfing day was not the win by trio Gez, Captain & Abbbo but the lack of coordination and control by scapegoat Rob W who after being warned by the starting marshal played the wrong 18th hole, thus getting DQ'd. But in the interest of fair competition and the fact they were 7 under par we also decided to pay them out. The 4 ball was Jim, Nico, Rob & Martin.
