Haven Pastures Saturday 5th August 2006

Sean A with a good chip from the large grass bunker. Not his best round but the lessons are showing some sign of consistency though he will need to be patient.

The Team Tournament is hotting up with only a few shots separating 4 teams.

At last Paul n finally got his act together on a society day. Paul normally plays well but when it comes to society day he normally falls short, but not today. A solid round made up of 7 pars and 2 birdies was only spoilt with a minor glitch on the 16th. The muggy slightly overcast day was full of good scores with over half the field scoring nett par or better. Six guys had very tidy rounds all scoring 40 stableford points or more. Mister consistent Paul H again had another excellent round weighting in with 20 points on the front and back 9 and only one blob picked up on the 2nd.

An inspired idea from Sean A, and a worse for wear Dale saw them each get a buggy with Pete S and Steve W making up the four ball. On a course that had a long walk between holes and a few steep hills it proved to be fruitful with Pete S notching 41, Dale 40, Steve 39 and Sean 31. Dale needs to think about drinking too much more often, he went round all 18 holes without a 4 pointer or a blob. Consistency at its best.  Krys J should have took the top spot from Paul with ease. He was on 39 points with 3 holes to play, then the jitters set in. Only scoring one point from the last 3. Nevertheless an excellent score.

Gez N got off to a disastrous start with only one point after 3 holes and 13 after 9. A solid back 9 of 20 points with only one blob gave him a disappointing 11th place and took his handicap back up to 16.

Anthony H was another one who would like to put Haven pastures behind him. Things where just no going for Ant. His round was made up of 5 blobs constructed of a 10 on the 10th, one score of 8 and five holes of 7. I am sure he will be back to his beat at West Midlands. Dave T again weighed in with another solid round. No blobs and steady iron play saw him take the lead in Division one Order of Merit.

Lee U had a really solid round. Out in 21 with no blobs promised more, but he slid to still a very good 36 points with a couple of blobs on the 14th & 18th. Big hitting Bez was again consistent with a finishing round of 37 stableford points. But did show he's not all power by winning nearest the pin on the 12th.

Cam was back to his wayward self after a good score last time out, he just could not get it together today. Willow Whitt round was another solid affair, out in 17 and back in in 18 with only one blob made for a very creditable 35.

Next event is Saturday 2nd September at West Midlands with the first tee time being 12:09. Full details will be available soon, but food has been ordered prior to the first tee time. Please contact me early if you are not available
