Today saw us take on a traditional links course, undulating fairways (if you could find them) deep bunkers, blind holes and fast greens. A few golfers found it hard going but the beautiful weather and stunning scenery made it all worth while. Only three golfer broke par. Nico finishing 1 under par after 5 pars and only 1 blob on the par 5 10th. Second was the 2014 mister consistent Paz, who benefitted from the practice round at Ashburnham on Friday with a stunning 42 points. His round consisted of six pars and a blob, with three 4 point scores for good measure. his reward was a 3 shot handicap reduction for the visit to Machynys the next day. The winner on the day was young James H who managed to score an excellent 43 points playing off 13. his reward was a reduction down to 11. It was a pretty well crafted round with hardly a mistake in sight. No blobs 11 pars and a birdie gave him something to remember on a very difficult course for many of the golfers without the pressure of MatchPlay format.
