Match Day Report

The day got off to a good start with all 16 turning up including Bullet and Jacko, they both where looking relaxed in the photos on the left but Jacko was at his whit's end when he saw the water nestling at the end of the first tee.  Late arrivals from a few people incurred feature fines and absolutely nothing else from the match day organizer (You would have expected more from a Newcastle Fan)

The blustery conditions with some patchy sunshine made it a difficult conditions with some indifferent rounds. Top society man Paul N had a mare, losing his normal cool by throwing his club down in disgust at the short par 3 10th.

Talking point of the day was a wayward shot by Gez that nearly took Whitt's head off. Unfortunately he did not follow golf etiquette by shouting "Four". This did not go down well with the four ball it narrowly missed.

Witt's average round was helped with a monster putt  on the 16th, while Jocko's long put from off the green finishing 6 inches short was celebrated with a gambol but unfortunately it was on the putting surface. Pete's putting was the main reason for his stableford win with 38 points. He was having a very good day around the green which was helped by holing two puts from off the putting surface. Anthony H had another solid round finishing in the top two again.

Dave Wiggett was not consistent enough to trouble the top three, but had some good holes. Terry notched up his highest ever stableford score of 33pts with a good solid round. Mark N had another up and down round with some difficult shots. The one shown here on the left was executed with style finishing on the putting surface from 60 yards off the lip of the bunker. Dale and Dave T had below average rounds with nothing of anything to shout home about, with no really bad holes and nothing exceptional  they look forward to the next event at Bidford Grange.

Match day organizer Cam still has some organization skills to brush up on. He should be praised for getting the best turn out to date at a society event, and raising the most in feature fines (£28.00) but spoilt all that good work by forgetting the competition markers and delivering the match day comments on the back of a beer mat 3 weeks late.

Jacko & Bullet relaxed ready for the day ahead

It all started so happy for Paul N.

Paul Nicholson with a tuff shot from the edge of the bunker.
