Our 4th visit to Staverton Park defied the weather experts by only giving us 5 minutes of rain. Although the strong winds on the back none made up for it, but potentially gave us some practice for our forthcoming trip to the links courses of Wales. Craig took top spot with a 2 under par 38 just beating the consistent Paresh by one point. Obviously a course that suits Craig's game with 3 appearances 2 wins and a third place, with all scores under par. He posted the lowest gross of the day with an 81. Two blobs on the back nine, on two out of the three easiest holes threatened to derail the calibrations but with pars on the first 6 holes back up with another 5 meant it was going to be difficult to beat. Coming closest was Paz who was still in good shape after his inaugural win at the last event. Again like Craig he hit the 20's after nine but, with two blobs on the back nine, and a sloppy single point in the easiest hole on the course he came up one point short. Back in third spot was Bez who had his best round for some time. No blobs and a score of one over par 35 gives him a confidence boost as the UK weekender approaches. It was worth noting there where also another couple of vastly improved rounds of golf today, with Blunders and Dale both notching 34 points which is there best scores by far for some 10 months. Today's nearest the pin winners went to Gez Newsome on the 4th, who by all accounts was one of only a few to even get the ball on the green. On the other hand the winner on the 12th was nearly buying the drinks. Sean A almost notched a hole in one finishing some 6 inches short after a near perfect drive. A few golfers did struggle with the windy conditions, which gave us an indication of what was to come as we venture off to the links courses of Swansea in Wales
