A beautiful day in south Birmingham made our trip to Hollywood even more memorable. Event five was contested down the beautiful tree lined fairways and lightning fast greens. Again only 2 golfers broke par. 3 of the lowest 4 golfers on show took the top three places. Brothers Gez and Paul battled out 2nd and third place with Paul just taking it with a 1 under par 37. His round saw 5 pars and 3 birdies and no blobs. A solid round that saw his handicap go 3 clear of anyone else in the society down to 8. Gez only one shot back went round in even par. His round also saw no blobs, with the only blot on the card being a 7 on the relatively easy par 5 eighteenth. The winner was Anthony who rounded a 4 under par 40 with one blob. He made up for this with 9 pars and two birdies for a gross 79, quite a few shots clear of the others. Dale continued his returned to form with his second 34 point finish for a forth place spot, with Rick taking 5th position for some well needed grand prix points. A few golfers struggled with the tree lined fairways and fast greens with half the field not getting onto the 30's. Woody Andy Whitt felt very much at home with all the trees as the pictures left and right show you. Quarter final places for the Match Play format committee shield where also decided today check the competition page for details.
