Our first event of the 2014 season certainly gave us a challenge, no one managed to break par on the beautifully shaped PGA national at the Belfry. Paresh took the honours with a one over par on his first official event since joining from the associate member section. His round consisted of 3 blobs that where balanced well with two 4 points scores and five 3 pointers, a solid start to the season and an early 5 point lead in division 3. Second was Cam who seems to play better the less he plays. Finishing two points back on 3 over par must have been a little frustrating, as his only blob of the day came on the stroke index 18, this coupled with six single point scores was probably the difference from taking top spot. back in third spot on 32 was Steve W who is back looking for honours after an injury hot 2013. A sluggish back nine and a blob on the 18th left him 3 shots short of victory. Many golfers struggled after a long winter with two thirds of the field not getting into the 30's, with one third not even getting to 25 points. Today also saw our 2013 presentation event held in the Worcester room overlooking the Barbizon prestigious 18th hole at the quadruple Ryder Cup venue. There where numerous winners check here for the role of honour, but none more popular that Patrick Mahoney who took the "Committee Shield" the first division three player to do so. He took some notable scalps along the way such as Division one OOM champions Anthony Harding and Gez Newsome. He certainly cam dressed for this special occasion in more ways that one for some.

See you all at Staverton on May
