Handicap Changes after today: Here

Our 1st event of the 2025 season was played in excellent conditions on a course that was in very good condition. A good society course with green in good shape and some very fast. Only two golfers broke par and some generally low score after the winter layoff for most. The back nine seemed to play better for most with some good scores coming in from quite a few after a poor front nine. Third place went to Bez who had a good return to form after a below par 2024. His 34 points and 2 over par round was very varied with three blobs (on two of the three easiest holes) offset with three birdies. Second place and losing out on countback for the second event running was Howard who's round consisted of only two blobs on the fifth and seventeenth. A chip in for a five point score on the third hole got the round off to a great start, but unfortunately the water on the seventeenth put paid to the days victory. But the winner was Division one Wiggy who had not picked up a club in almost six months to notch a one under par score. His round was mode up of only one blob and that was on the first hole. Six pars and a strong finished ensured he got the victory on countback. A few good golfers who are normally solid had a day to forget as they struggled in the mid 20's
