Handicap Changes after today here

A summers day with a bit of everything. Warm, chilly, sunny, cloudy, light rain and like putting on a beach. Its all about timing and we got it wrong, they holed and sanded the greens earlier in the week leaving us with massively changing conditions on every green, which from the words after had an impact on everyone's scores. Saying that it was an intensely competitive day with twenty-two of the field ending up in the thirties and only two points separating nine places from par in forth down to 13th. Like I say it was very close for the majority of the field but 3 golfers seem to have handled the conditions better than other all finishing on three under par. Countback was the deciding factor with Anthony coming in 3rd with an excellent round that had no blobs and only three single point scores. Second place went to Division three golfer John Timson. His round only seen one blob and the 17th green single point left him one short of winning. But it was committee member Andy W that took the day with and excellent back nine of twenty-two points. His only blob cam eon the first hole and the second was only a single point. After that, the whole round consisted of two- and three-point scores all but a single point on the ninth. His first UK match day win since 2010 (a gap of 14 years)

Short Course Championship.

Today saw our par 3 completion played on the tight a challenging Spires course. As always it was a tight affair with countback deciding the winner. 5th place went to Karl with 17, then 4th was Gez with 17, 3rd place went to our guest Mark Casewell. Anthony Wale lost out to Jeff W on the last 6 hole countback, with them both scoring a two under par 20. Unfortunately neither of them could carry that form into the afternoon session with both ending up near the bottom.
