Our
start to the 2023 season saw us get the best of the weather with it
being a bright sunny day with a little wind (Nothing like the
forecast all week) The course was quite wet with a lot of standing
water on the edge of the fairways and a handful of very soggy
greens. One temporary green of which many took advantage of.
Generally a close affair with five golfers breaking par, and only
five shots covering the next 12 places.5th place was James H who showed
why he is our lowest handicapper with an impressive 38 points made
up of 11 pars and a birdie for a gross 74. 4th place and also on 38
was Jason C who last minute change of mind to play was rewarded with
a good performance and a couple of pars. 3rd place saw Craig who
finished 1 shot better off with 39. His round saw no blobs and eight
pars, to give him a great confidence boost leading into the first
event. That left 2 golfers who both ended up 5 under par on 41.
Initial countback could not split both scoring an impressive 22
points on the back 9. It was only John T last 6 holes that took the
honors from Chris S on countback. Chris's round saw one blob and 8
pars, with John notching no blobs and 7 pars.
