A great day was had by all with the weather giving us 17 degrees of mostly sun with some welcome cloud to give rest bite from the glaring low sun which on some holes gave an unwelcome hazard. The course was in excellent condition and the greens in top condition. The layout out of short par fours and only 3 part three's gave for some early big scores at the turn, with quite a few golfers notching up 20 plus. But the back nine put paid to many scores ending in the forties. 5 golfers broke par with Rob and Jim finishing 1 over par) after their excellent front nine) second and 3rd spot was battled out between Craig and Howard who both ending up with a 3 under par 39. Good score from Howard from his limited appearances this season, but a great score for Craig who stays on course to maybe capture the Division One OOM. His excellent score teamed up with his pairs partner Steve B (who himself scored a solid par round of 36) to take the pairs championship by 9 points from Gez and Anthony. But the winner by one was Jack who was solid all the way round for his four under par 40. Seven pars and only one blob (on the 17th) was the structure of his round. Many others scored very well and 16th place was only 4 over par. With some tricky greens and tree lined fairways causing some extra challenges it could have got a lot closer at the top. Both Bez and Anthony H made it through to the Matchplay Committee shield final with close wins. Certainly a course we will look to return to, as it was on the cheaper end of our seasons venues, great value all round.
