A lovely March day seen the small
field dust off the cobwebs after a long winter break. The short
course allowed individuals to practice there approach shots with 10
par 3s. If was generally a close affair with only 10 shots splitting
18 of the 19 golfers on the field, and 10 of them with par or one
shot
worse. But it was a superb performance from our elder statesman John
Howard with a record breaking 52 points some 16 under par. Plenty of
shots in
the bag with a 34 handicap was built upon with 5 pars and 6
holes of 4 points. Luckily for John no long lasting effect as it was
a non handicap event. Ammo was the only other gofer to break par
with a 1 under par 37. Then 5 golfers equaled par all with a good
handful of pars and only the odd blob. Greens had been sanded and
were still feeling the effects of the winter but generally course in
acceptable condition. Probably our last visit.
