Our latest event was again plagued with poor weather. The bitterly cold and windy conditions where not ideal on the hilly Droitwich course. The scoring though ended up being very close with only 3 shots separating the first 10 places. Very pleasing to see was only 3 golfers breaking par so count back came into play to decide the winner. Dale from Division 2 was against two Division 3 golfers in Graham Aulton and Chris Shaw. Dale and Chris had very good starts with 22 and 21 points but could not maintain the above par start ending up with 37 points for the day. For Graham it was the opposite way round with a slightly below par front nine (15) and 22 on the back which of course is the right way round if you want to win on count back. Graham pictured left has not taken long to get into the groove with a victory in his third official event a feat still not matched by many golfers after over 30 events. It was one of those days where one bad hole, couple of three puts or a fluffed chip or two could have been the difference between first and tenth. Mark Poultney was ruing his shank on the Par 3 16th which resulted in a blob, and his other blob on the par 3 second. Anthony Harding mishit into the out of bounds on the 18th when perfectly positioned cost him top spot. Cam's first event of the year saw him fall short with his 8 on the par 4 forth hole for his only blob. Woody had a couple of chances with three blobs over the 18 holes this after four top three finishes last year he must be thinking he is not going to win an event. Gez N also fell short after his 8 shots on the par five 8th for his only blob of the day. But his good start to the season continued after picking up his forth main win of the year after 3 events with the nearest the pin in two prize.

Our new associate members dipped their feet into society golf. Kevin fairing the better of the three with an impressive 32 points. Sean notched 28 while Jeff 27 better things to come from all three, after not ideal weather conditions.
