Another dry settled day made excellent conditions for our highest scoring event of the season so far. 5 golfers broke par with three of them hitting the 40 points barrier. Overall winner was Rich D with a massive 45 points. His round included 10 pars and a birdie as was only spoilt by a single blob on the par 4 12th. He has taken a 4 shot cut  for his troubles making him off 14 for the next event. In equal second spot was James L & Chris S. Chris Shaw had a welcomed return to form after his last event nightmare. He had some bad luck by loosing a ball in a clear opening on the 18th which would have been even better. A sprinkling of pars and only 1 blob helped him to his new handicap of 27. James had his best event of the season by far. Having spent the whole season not breaking 30 his 40 stableford points today was put together with a couple of pars, 1 blob and a 20/20 split in and out.

The other two guys to break par was Greg W and Graham S. Greg put together his best score of the season with two birdies and a sprinkling of pars. Only one blob on the par 4 twelfth was the only negative in the round that has moved him into 3rd place in division 1. Graham S continues to be erratic but today on the positive side with a very creditable 37 points. Only 1 blob and an even spread of the other points made up his equal best event of the season so far.

A few other good rounds to mention. Captain Pete back to a bit of form with a solid 35, the new driver was working well, couple of dodgy putts but overall a score to give you confidence just before going on tour. Mister consistence Paul H weighed in with a solid round of 36 to take him 6 points clear at the top of division 2. The purple patch of 5 pars in six holes on the back nine proved to be the foundation and backed up his front nine total of 15. Wiggy's layoff last month worked well with a even par display of 36. Almost exactly the same score as Paul H with 15 at the turn and 5 pars on the back nine. Any Leitch notched his best score of the season with 35 points. A couple of pars and only 3 blobs was matched with an overall improvement in getting off the tee, turned out to be a good recipe. More to come from Andy now he is playing regular outside of golf days. Associate member Graham A also weighed in with his best round since joining us. One blob on the 4th was the only negative on the day.
